The Quiet Before

Beneath

hush of thoughts,

silence of an eclipsed mind paces-

Like those medieval paintings

serene, still, lost in time.

A moment

never to be retrieved,

endless-

this spiral, wherever I go.

 

By the brooks,

by the creeks,

unrest lingers in the calm

almost fading the bright of sun-

The sky cloaked in grey,

as if holding the storm

yet to begin.
